SU CHAIR - rope chair
The SU CHAIR was created to enhance the waterfront experience. The sight and the sound of the water have a healing effect on our body and helps us achieve a meditative state that we can enjoy in this chair. Its dimensions are determined by the sizes of the classic easy-chair and its form was inspired primarily by lotus sitting and Oriental Culture.

To reduce the severity of the stainless steel frame, I chose a softer and more flexible material. To create a sitting surface, I used 180 feet of parachute, a durable rope used for military and parachuting purposes. I designed a bandage that is above the metal vase, so the human body does not touch the hard steel. The high back is beyond the comfort, it is a bit distanced from the world around us, thus creating the private sphere helps to reach the meditative state.

To achieve the near-natural effect, I used earth color to the rope and left the steel pipe nature surface. The ground meets the chair leg pads are made of beech wood.
